Sometimes, it makes sense to convert a group direct message into a team, especially when they start becoming standing discussions. To convert a group message to a team:
- Open the group direct message conversation you wish to convert to a team.
- Tap the group name in the app navigation bar at the top of the screen.
- Tap the gear icon to expose the conversation settings menu.
- Tap Convert to Team from the conversation settings menu.
- Tap Continue to confirm.
Once a group message is converted to a team, you can give it a new name.
