Tasks in the RingCentral app helps you to stay on top of all your projects and provide visibility into your tasks by other people in your team. You can create tasks for yourself or other people, and you can add them to a direct message, group, or team conversation. 
 
Once a task has been created, you can view and manage all tasks in a conversation by navigating to the Tasks tab in the conversation details. To learn more, visit Managing tasks in the RingCentral mobile app.

Creating tasks for mobile

There are two ways to create tasks in the RingCentral mobile app. You can add a task in a conversation via the plus button or by navigating to the Tasks tab. To learn more, follow these steps:

Adding tasks via the new actions plus button

To add tasks via the plus button, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to Message via the bottom menu bar
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list
  3. Tap on the plus button in the bottom left corner of the app
  4. Select New task in the pop-up menu
  5. Configure the task settings as needed (see below for more info)
  6. Tap the check mark at top right to add the task

Adding tasks via the Tasks tab

To add tasks via the Tasks tab, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to Message via the bottom menu bar
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list
  3. Tap the three-dot icon in the top right-hand corner of the app
  4. Select the Tasks tab
  5. If you are creating the first task in the conversation, tap the Add Task button at the center OR Tap the blue plus icon in the bottom right corner of the app to add a task
  6. Configure the task settings as needed (see below for more info)
  7. Tap the check mark at top right to add the task
Once you create a task, it will appear in the message thread and include some or all of the following information: the task name, the task assignees, the task duration, and the task description.
